Just got this one finished. Posted a part finished picture in the "What's on your Bench this Weekend" thread. I like it, so I popped a few quick shots of it. Didn't spend a lot of time composing!

Curly Padauk (RC Tonewoods)/ Lutz Spruce (HMTW), 640 scale, Walnut Neck, Ebony FB, Padauk Bridge, EIR Bindings, cross grain Zebrawood purfs on top, Maple purfs on Back and sides.

That is a sweet looking classical. I love the detail in the head stock, both front and back. Also I also like your rosettes.

This is Royal Lac. Really works well. I didn't wait the 3 weeks before polishing out, though. Wasn't looking for a high luster gloss. Nice soft gloss is good enough for me. It isn't a mirror. Finish is still a bit tender, so I'll treat it with kid gloves for a while. I can always repair it if something happens! [headinwall]

Thanks to all of you for your comments. I bought three sets of this stuff when Bob posted on the forum that he had it. Really nice wood!

Very nice! I like the look of the Padauk.

Padauk really takes my breath away... I am highly allergic.

Thanks, Don! I like it too - especially this stuff. Fortunately, I don't seem to have any negative reactions to it. That said, the dust stains everything. My jeans have orange patches on the front below the pockets, where I am habitually wiping my hands! gaah

What are you trying to do? make us all look like slackers?
Beautiful job, all tied together like that, like you had a plan.
Hope it is off to a new home soon.

Nice! I am not a fan at all of the mirror look either. I like it.

Very nice Waddy! You always do a great job of tying it all together. I think sticking with a signature rosette design is such a great way to get the Waddy brand name recognition out. So how many of those rosette logs have you had to make? Must be more than one by now.

Cheers,
danny

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
